SAINTS OF GRACE FUTURE! Saturday, October 4, 2-5pm A Vision for the Church with Dr. Rev. Dwight Zscheile

The Rev. Dr. Dwight Zscheile is an Episcopal Priest, and professor of congregational mission and leadership at Luther Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota.  Dr. Zscheile is known for his work in cultivating leadership for the missional church, and specifically for his vision for the future of the church.  He has authored numerous books, including most recently Embracing the Mixed Ecology: Inherited and New Forms of Christian Community Flourishing Together, and Leading Faithful Innovation: Following God into a Hopeful Future.

A graduate of Stanford University (BA), Yale University (MDiv) and Luther Seminary (PhD, Congregational Mission and Leadership), he previously served congregations in Minnesota, Virginia and Connecticut. Dwight’s experience growing up in a secular home in California has shaped his commitment to helping the church cultivate Christian community with neighbors in today’s changing world.  Dr. Zscheile will be preaching at both 8 & 10 AM services at Grace on Sunday, October 5.

SAINTS OF GRACE PAST! Monday, October 20, 5-7pm “The History of Grace” Book Release Party!

Lin Weber’s new book, 150 Years of Grace is a great read! No dry history book here—it’s the amazing and true story of a blessed place and the people who have loved her and cared for her but also abandoned her and gave her up for dead. Grace’s resurrection and new life—not once but twice—are inspirational. This is a must-read for Episcopalians everywhere, because it is set within the history of the entire denomination, which is itself facing challenging times.

-GRACE @ THE CAMEO! Monday, October 27, 5pm Come watch the 150th Anniversary film premiere!

This new 150th anniversary documentary, created by parishioner Brian Capener, revisits the faith and dedication of the small band of parishioners who built and sustained the tiny stone chapel on the corner of Oak and Spring streets.  But today’s world presents new challenges to institutional Christianity, and the film will examine how Grace Church can flourish both inside and outside its walls in the coming decades.

150TH FESTIVAL CELEBRATION! Saturday, November 1, 2-8pm Anniversary Eucharist 2pm, Paaaaarty, 4-8pm

A Festival Eucharist led by Bishop Megan Traquair of the Diocese of Northern California with prayers of thanksgiving for the Saints of Grace past, present, and future!  The party will spread across Grace’s campus with small bites from local chefs and wine poured by wineries with historical connections with Grace.  The evening will conclude with musical stylings of the Jazz@7 VocalEnsemble.  The entire community is welcome to help us celebrate Grace turning 150 years young!
