Adopt-A-Family 2025

Celebrating 25 years, the Adopt a Family Program at Grace Episcopal Church in St. Helena, CA, has continued to partner with UpValley Family Centers to fund a need. UpValley Family Centers serves 50 families who have struggled significantly to meet basic needs. Rent, utilities, and food remain out of reach for many despite their best efforts, and families are left to choose between paying their rent or feeding their families. According to UpValley, Farmworker families, in particular, have reported earning less income this year than last, and reductions in government safety net services have left many households at risk. After months of hardship, anxiety, and uncertainty, these families need our support, and you can make a massive difference by signing up and adopting a family this holiday season. Let’s help ensure every child experiences the warmth and joy of the holiday season!

The family adoption process offers several ways to give, depending on your budget and available time. How it Works:

There are three options for you to show your support, get involved, and spread the holiday joy:

1. You give, and the Adopt a Family team creates and delivers a holiday basket for you.

2. Customize and create your own holiday basket for the family you receive. Drop it off at Grace Church, and the Adopt a Family team will ensure it is delivered.

3. Make a cash donation to the Adopt a Family program through the online giving platform Realm.

Call for Volunteers for the Adopt a Family Program

We are seeking dedicated volunteers to support this year’s Adopt a Family Program from December 12 to 15th. As many families in our community continue to face significant challenges in meeting basic needs, your time and compassion can make a meaningful difference this holiday season!

We need volunteers to help with:

  • Sorting and organizing gifts
  • Wrapping gifts
  • Preparing and assembling family gift baskets
  • Writing and sealing cards
  • Delivering baskets to UpValley locations (Calistoga and St. Helena)
  • Spreading the word to your friends and family for people to get involved and adopt a family!
