In June, Baby Love made a delivery of 100 blankets and quilts, 100 baby hats and 100 bags of toiletries to the Homeless Prenatal Program and Birth Companions Community Center in San Francisco. In August, 60 blankets and quilts, 60 hats and 60 bags of toiletries were delivered to SF General Hospital. This month (September) we will deliver 60 more blankets and quilts, 60 hats and 60 bags of toiletries to the Homeless Prenatal Program in San Francisco. Our total donations this summer are 470 items to needy moms and babies!
All this is thanks to our wonderful volunteers and donors. This week we salute two of our blanket knitters, Nancy Henry and Renee Keller, both of Napa. Nancy is sister-in-law to Terry Henry, one of our volunteers, and started knitting for us three years ago. Her neighbor, Renee, heard about Baby Love from Nancy and began knitting blankets for us also. Nancy was inspired to knit from her grandmother, but only learned to knit in 2002. Renee has been knitting since she was 12, and finds it a creative outlet while watching TV. Thank you both for your beautiful blankets and your dedication.
