In the fall over 100 Grace members attended a Sustaining Grace Gathering– small social events in fellow parishioners homes. “Reconnect and Renew” was our theme for 2022, but at these gatherings in the fall of 2023 we really did that. As we told our “Grace stories” and shared “fun facts,” enjoying hospitality in a relaxed setting, we deepened old relationships and made new ones with the people who make Grace what it is. We came away energized, grateful, and committed to one another and the future God has in store for us.

We have exciting news! if you haven’t yet attended a Sustaining Grace Gathering, we have several Gatherings planned this spring. For this next round of Grace Gatherings we’re offering you a chance to choose a Gathering time that works with your schedule from several fun-filled events in the homes of our devoted parishioners.  Or, you can join a Gathering at Grace immediately following the 10am service.

First of all Joan & Steve Heller are once again opening their home for a luncheon on Saturday, March 16th from 11:30 to 1:30. The next one is being offered by Jennifer & John Muhlner who would like to invite you to join them in their home for happy hour on Thursday, March 21st from 5:00-6:30Sue Cottrell & Alexandra Haslip will be hosting a wine & hors d’oeuvres event April 11th from 5:30 to 7:00 and in May the Linder family (Mary, Mark, Katherine and Matt) will join forces on May 11th from 4:30-6:30 for a happy hour gathering in Mary & Mark’s home in St Helena. For those who would like to join a Gathering on Sunday following the 10:00 service, Rev. Amy, Michael Roche and Natalie Klug will host a gathering in Amy’s office on Sunday, April 14th from 11:45 to1:15. Sandwiches and salads will be provided.

During the Gatherings, you’ll have a chance to reacquaint yourselves with longtime friends and start new relationships with others. In addition to plenty of socialization time, we will update you on the progress of the Sustaining Grace Initiative and tell you how you can become a member of the Sustaining Grace Society as we prepare for the 150th celebration of Grace in St Helena in December of 2025. And, lastly, hold on to your hats. We have a surprise or two along the way…so stay tuned.

Please let us know soon your preference for the Gathering that works best with your schedule.

To sign up for one of the above you may contact any of the hosts, Alexandra Haslip at [email protected] or Mark Linder at [email protected]. If you are interested in hosting or co-hosting a gathering, please let Mark know!
