This Sunday is our Annual Meeting where we will get to formally announce our 2025 Vestry Slate!

One great thing about the Episcopal Church is that it is democratically governed, and this Sunday at our annual meeting is the time every year where we get to see that aspect of your church most clearly.

At Annual Meeting we elect our leadership board, called a “Vestry” (they used to meet in Old England in rooms clergy kept their vestments in!) We elect delegates to our Diocesan Convention. These vestry members and delegates elect and call our rectors and bishops, and when it’s not time to call clergy leaders, they approve budgets, oversee strategic vision, and do lots of work that keeps the lights on and the faith strong in our congregation.

We solicit nominations for both offices in the fall. Outgoing vestry members form the nominating committee and often do a lot recruiting, vet candidates and put together a slate which the vestry votes to present to the Annual Meeting. Verbal nominations from the floor at the Annual Meeting are also welcome, with the person’s consent, and following the qualifications listed in the back of the Annual Report available at the meeting.
